Signs Your Tires Need to be Replaced

Your vehicle’s tires are an essential part of your ability to drive. They are, in fact, the only part that comes into contact with the pavement. If the tread has worn too far down, the tires can’t deflect water appropriately, and you’re placing yourself and others in a potentially dangerous situation.

It’s recommended to check your tires monthly. Start with a walk around your vehicle and do a visual inspection. Follow that up with a tread check. That can be accomplished in a couple of ways. The first is to use a quarter. Insert its head down between the tread grooves. If you can see the top of Washington’s head, then it’s time for new tires. An alternate method is to look for one of the six wear bars placed horizontally throughout the tires. If they are flush with the tread, then you need to replace them right away.
